Dear Friends,

Just appeared is an extensive draft biography very well written by a new member at Lea's Site (set up by German Photographer, Chris Danneffel "In Loving Memory" of this young lady, our own Lea De Mae (Andrea) whose short life touched our hearts so. Please see at http://www.konstanzerfasnacht.de/pm_LDM/  (in the new Forum).

You may know that Chris's Site is slightly awkward to access. If you click the full size forum link shown in one of my postings, the viewing area will be enlarged. You need to register (free of charge, of course) and if you see warnings about difficulty in accessing the site, just disregard them and eventually you will get there!

You will recall that it was Chris who devoted many months of his life and gave up his Radio DJ job to be at Lea's side during her battle for life and in the nights, Chris spent hours documenting medical readings to send to clinics for assistance, as the Czech Medical Team were struggling at times causing Lea distress, and also keeping us all informed, whilst we looked on suffering with Lea but almost helpless to intervene. 

At that terrible time, many fans and some fellow artists (but not the owners of Private Studio, who we wrote to more than once) sent cash donations to the Medical Fund set out by Oldrich Widman of Dream Entertainment in Prague, the original manager and presenter of Silvia Saint (in 1996), Daniella Rush, Lea De Mae and young Monica Sweetheart.

That was all we could do from afar to try to help. Then, due to the efforts of Juhani in Canada, Monica and our letters sent from London, we did get "Hustler" onside even though Lea had made only one or two photoshoots for that company, but events overtook Lea when the Czech Medical Team could not stabilise her condition and we lost Lea on 9th December 2004.

That was nearly 3 years ago now.

Nonetheless, Lea's lovely smiling face and beautiful blue eyes still flood our memories.

A marvellous young lady who clearly loved life and lived it with fun and excitement and who was good enough to share her beauty and "joie de vivre" with us for a little while she was on this earth.

Andrea Absolonová (December 26, 1976 December 9, 2004),[3] better known by the pseudonym Lea De Mae, was a Czech adult model and pornographic actress.


Biography

Born December 26, 1976 in Czechoslovakia, she was a member of the Czech high diving national team and injured her spine in an accident when training for the Atlanta Summer Olympics in 1996, diving from the 10m platform. Some time after her injury, Lea did her best to recover, and qualified again for the Sydney Olympics in 2000. However her problems persisted, so she retired from high diving. She was later persuaded by a photographer to pose nude and eventually to participate in the adult film industry.[1][2]

Lea de Mae appeared in over 80 adult films. She first showed up on American screens in a series of features for Private Studio where her stunning looks were well received.

Lea de Mae ended up returning to Europe after the time she spent in US. She then started to film more adult films in her native land but after a brief period of time she returned to the States.

Lea De Mae along with colleagues Silvia Saint, Daniella Rush and Monica Sweetheart (known as "The Dream Team") led the home contingent in the early days of the Czech adult movie/modeling world. She was nominated for the 2004 AVN Award for Foreign Female Performer of the Year.[3]

Lea was diagnosed with glioblastoma, an aggressive form of brain cancer in July 2004. During Lea's battle for life, fans from around the world and fellow porn actors supported a medical fund that had been set up for her in Prague, but she succumbed to the disease on December 9, 2004 at the age of 27, 17 days shy of her 28th birthday.[3]

Brilliant & gallant star, a zenith in both professional sports entertainment and motion picture industry. As stunning as she was both photogenically and personality wise, she will be missed. Her on screen achievements were 181 films I found, 80 of which were adult orientated. Leading the pack in the Czech movie and modeling world she also was nominated for the 2004 AVN award for Foreign Female Performer of the Year. Although she passed away at age 27 her place in the professional sporting world and entertainment world stills shines bright. That is a lot of success to fit into 27 short years.

In memory of Lea de Mae

Checking a bunch of websites, her name lit up under my eyes. The voice of Google Search reported: Look for Lea de Mae pornostar. I had to write two notes about her; Andrea Absolonova, blond, ex-athlete belonging to the Czechoslovakian high divers' national team, selected for the Olympics '96, where she did not participate on account of a bad incident happening during the athletic training, although she managed to recover physically, to the point of presenting herself at Sydney 2000. She started a career as a model and posed nude for a commercial, and this initiated a series of jobs for magazines of Hustler style. The step from there to the porn market was small, and she worked for Frezerside Holding and Marc Dorcel. In 2004 she was on the cover of Hustler, when in June more and more persisting headaches begun: Medical exams and finally the detection of a glioblastome, which did not leave a way out. Admitted in the hospital in Czechoslovakia, supported by colleagues and friends, the pain became stronger and stronger and the psychic functions deteriorated quickly. At the beginning of December it was very bad, she had an operation but it couldn't be helped, she died at the 9th of the same month. Look what a beautiful girl she was, dying at 27 like this. My God, my God, why have you forsaken me.
