Does anybody out there have clips of Silvia's scenes in Le Fete a Gigi with the original soundtrack rather than the extremely badly dubbed versions that appear to be more common?
There is a tantalising version from 2007 in low quality (320x240) with a "Meulink" watermark that suggests an original soundtrack may exist, although I have not had much success syncing the A/V on this. But it does sound like Silvia to me and there is some real dialogue in German, which I believe Silvia speaks fluently. I've uploaded this version if anyone wants to check it out:
I don't mind them dubbing specific dialogue, but I've never understood why they redub the whole scene instead of letting Silvia express herself. They surely recorded the audio at the same time, after all! If nobody has a clip, I think I'll probably redub a version with just music.
I cannot help with the original soundtrack. But I doubt that Silvia speaks German fluently (or at least that she spoke it fluently in her twenties). I think she mentioned once that she speaks it a bit.
This "Meulink" version is dubbed, and most probably not by Silvia herself. Both voices are Germans, but with no foreign accent. Considering that Marc Barrow is French and has AFAIK no particular connections to Germany I think that for him it would be even more difficult than for Silvia to speak German without accent.

I read on another forum that the dubbing was done to respect some certain laws in certain countries where the movies were sold, laws that applied to the whole movie industry regardless of type (i.e. porn or artistic).
I was looking for some movies with Sarah Young that were filmed in Italy, and i was told the original sound probably only exists on the original tapes so i doubt we will be in contact with any producer from that period anytime soon.
It is very interesting to get Bernd's view of the lack of a foreign accent to the German spoken in the Meulink clip. I seem to remember Silvia speaks both German and Russian as well as English and her native Czech, but I don't imagine her German would be unaccented. Indeed, the strong Czech accent to her English is one of the many things I love about Silvia!
I guess the Meulink clip is just another overdub, but at least it sounds more authentic than the usual voice actors sitting in a booth making "oo"and "ah" noises while reading a newspaper.
@fapper. That explains why French, Italian and Spanish versions of movies always seem to be poorly dubbed in their own languages. As I said, I wouldn't mind that for proper dialogue, but they could leave the original sound on the actual sex scenes. Or better still provide the original sound as a selectable audio track on the DVD. But they didnt, so there's no point moaning about it.
