I've checked their collection. They have a huge amount of picture sets but yes in Dimon's old catalog system. Maybe you can remember it. I think it should be useful for you. But I don't know, may you upload pics for this forum from those collection? Or will it be impolite???

They have an ftp as well, maybe with different stuffs but I couldn't reached it yet...

The problem is, i have absolutly no idea of what they made in their secret den and if they know what we made here.

Because we are a public forum, i suppose they visit us sometimes, but who knows ?

I can't imagine two communities of fans living totally separate lives.

It's a big surprise for me to discover this site is still alive

Concerning their collection, the first of courtesies should be to ask if you can download and share elsewhere everything you want, or not ?

That's a fact i found there, some of my recent shared files, but plundering their site is perhaps not an interesting and lasting choice.

I'll try to create a partnership between our 2 sites. But i saw there members names i never saw before, great posters and fans i never encountered in other forums...

I downloaded some days ago some files from rapidshare.
Some files are not availible because of payment. And because we (crew) pay already a lot to keep the server alive, we have a policy that we don't pay! If others wanne do please do so and please upload them to our FTP. If not then we will get the galleries from others weeks or months later. For your IDEA the space we use for our webpage and FTP is total 18Gb RAID10 config and is stil growing.

I don't see it as plundering! Iam just wanne know if we have these pictures or not, I can't find samples! Everything we and other members download is placed on the FTP and stays for about 3 months. Then the galleries will on a webpage gallery. We don't have the time to create daily or weekly webpages with new galleries and FTP is easier to download then Pictures from a webpage.

Sharing pictures/galleries NO problem. But please don't do like other "old"members downloading 24h a day and when thet have everything they wanne have, you never hear from them again!
These members are not a member any more, when they don't reply to our emails.

We are monitoring the downloads and when somebody is downloading a lot (like 24h a day or 2 GB a day) the speed will be downgraded to 56Kbs speed after some emailto reduce download. Every member must have the chance to download and when somebody is downloading 24h HIGHSPEED then others will have a lower download speed or can't connect to the FTP and thats unfair.
ASAP and doesn't wanne wait untill somebody is ready dowlaoding

Perhaps i will have some hours available during the christmas holidays, and i'll try to restore my old index of Dimon's database, and i will link it to our catalogs. It's important if you consider we have many pics to share each other.

We take some, and we give some ; that's a good rule, don't you think ?

PS : what about the galleries that are not on the ftp and not online either (most of 700-800 for example) ?

Gall 700 till 800 TSSFC site or .....

Gall 700 till 800 of TSSFC are online, just checked!
PS all 1050 galls are also availible via FTP!

i'm in office now, and i try again to access some galleries with Firefox

And still the same problem. When i click to enter a gallery, it opens a html source code page and i can't see any thumbs.

All the 600-900 galleries are like this

I see what the problem is!

Some later galleries are made in Secure HTML (shtml).

Why I don't know! Maybe a test from Mike. I will ask him.
With Intenet Explore is works fine but with Firefox is doesn't work.

I will ask Mike to correct this, but when it will be done? Soon!

I never had any problems with shtml pages on Safari or Firefox. So it's not the only point you'll have to see with Mike.

It's not really a problem because all galleries are on the ftp, but i use your bandwith downloading some sets needlessly. Sorry for that.

We are already updating the gallery pages!
Mike found the problem and it was something in Java with shtml what went wrong.
The problem was made by the Webpage creator.
Hopefully tomorrow everything will be fine.

Well, i explored their 1200 galleries, perhaps too fast, but i don't think they collected more than us. If you take off about 400 folders with vidcaps, we have very similar collections, but ours, thanks to Venizelos, are more ordered.

I found only 2 new sets for the catalog and perhaps in the next weeks, some pics to complete existing galleries.

If i can give here a personal opinion, i think they are not many people there and it's not easy for them to update their collection. I saw about 50 galleries with small old pics we have in higher quality in the catalog.

The difference is we are hundreds here to explore the net daily. When Pier999, Viv Thomas, Suze, DDF, ... release new sets, we have them one day or one week later. And if something is posted on other forums, we share it here immediatly.

But, in return, they have a big asset : as a private members site, they can post their collection without breaking the copyrights laws, and we can't do that here ...

I wait for JohnBigg comments about this point of view...

We have a lot to update! And upload new galleries. Also in higher resolution.
Because of work and other things we are not up to date. And because of that we have installed (2 years ago) a new server and more storage space so we can use the FTP for sharing and storage and everybody can upload the pictures and share them. On the FTP everybody can upload/download galleries.
Without limits or payments or waiting time like share websites.

Yes we are small and a lot of leechers. And because of some reasons we like to keep it small instead of hunders of members. We don't like to be in the picture.
That means that we don't have new galleries the next day or week.
Maybe a week later or sometimes a month but we have also galleries on the same day! This happens not many times but it happens!
This board is faster with new galleries because of the amount leechers we have.

But we have always the galleries availible!
In high resolution via Webpage of packed in RAR. The RAR files are availible via the FTP server.

Venizelos (like to be on conact with him!) haves a overview that have different tabs. Tab covers
Tab Galleries
No Vidscaps
Everything that haves a extention jpg or bmp or gif et we have in a gallery.
So also Vidcaps and scans of magazines. So 400 vidcaps???? Its less but how cares.

And the galleries get the number from incomming. So old pictures from the beginnen of Dimon collection starts with 0001 ect. And many galleries have more parts from other website, same foto's but higher res or just a few more photo's. So you can always compair your own collection with the collection we have from different websites.

Venizelos doesn't have a "timeline" in his overview. So its harder to look or compair a gallery with a verry young Silvia.
But still Venizelos haves galleries we don't have, and we like to have smile and maybe also Venizelos doesn't have everything biggrin

I agree. A timeline is a precious element to compare pictures or simply restore the history of some photosessions. It's not the purposes of Venizelos catalog, where we just want to find all pics in their best quality, and every time we upgrade a set, old pictures are rejected off-line.

But you lost your timeline, because nobody alerted you when you released variant of photosessions under new numbers instead of 'part II', 'part III',...

As an example, you have now 4 different numbers for VivThomas 'pool' picset, one for CSS variant, one for Twisty, etc... Many non-exclusive pictures from CSS are linked to existing galleries (Suze, Viv, Private, ...) and you created a new gallery for each one !

Concerning your last sentences, i finished the overview of SSFC, and i think i collected all pictures we didn't have (not so many). In return, i uploaded some galleries on your ftp. So, if you're looking for something, just ask !
