I downloaded the file. But it does not play in QuickTime. I tried the latest version of QuickTime but no luck. It says you need additional software to run the file and goes to apple website where there are dozens of plugin. I am confused which will be used. also the file does not run in VLC latest version. I also tried DIVX codec but in vain.
Please let us know what is the correct way to play the file. You should have uploaded it in other popular formats.
Hold on people. New version in one continuous compression format (H264) will be uploaded when it's ready. It was probably a bit naive of me to think that a single file containing around 5 different formats would be able to play on any machine except the one that made it. It will definitely play on a Mac using Quicktime with the Perian and Flip4Mac plug-ins installed so now might be a good time to buy that Mac you wanted. If there are Windows plug-ins available for Quicktime that allow DivX, Xvid and WMV format videos to be played in Quicktime then they might help. I however doubt that anyone would have made a Quicktime for Windows WMV plug-in as WMVs play on Windows machines out of the box through Windows Media Player.
I don't want to re-encode the Xvid clips I made from my own DVDs to another format as this will reduce picture quality so for the scenes that I own on DVD I'm going back to the original DVDs and ripping them again. This means it might take a bit longer than if I were just to transcode the compilation I've already made. The wait will be worth it.
Sorry for the bump to an old thread, but woesanger, have you made any progress with redoing the video?
I downloaded it, and tried and researched all I could. However, I couldn't come up with a solution on Windows 7. VLC flat out refuses to play it. Windows Media Player will play it until about 1 minute 20 seconds - then it quits. Various other players I tried will try to play it, but won't have any video, and will have high CPU usage. It also gets bad if I try to seek anywhere.
Anyway, I hope you've had some luck - definitely appreciate all your hard work in doing this. Certainly could not have been a simple task!
HI all i found a way to extract all the videos and audios from the compilation i use a software named Yamb downloaded from here
http://www.mundodivx.com/descargas.php?id=57
with this you select the file and just extract all the tracks to raw format then convert all to the format you want with another program, the only problem with this is that you have to mix the audios with the videos and is alot of work XDXD but i didnt found another way to do it, good luck and if someone can explain this better is well apreciated, i dont have time to do a tutorial or something <!-- /* Style Definitions */ p.MsoNormal, li.MsoNormal, div.MsoNormal {mso-style-parent:""; margin:0cm; margin-bottom:.0001pt; mso-pagination:widow-orphan; font-size:12.0pt; font-family:"Times New Roman"; mso-fareast-font-family:"Times New Roman";} @page Section1 {size:612.0pt 792.0pt; margin:70.85pt 3.0cm 70.85pt 3.0cm; mso-header-margin:36.0pt; mso-footer-margin:36.0pt; mso-paper-source:0;} div.Section1 {page:Section1;} -->
