Hi all,

as you may already know the two picture hosting sites imagebam.com and imgbox.com will close down on June 30, 2017, see http://www.imagebam.com/ and https://imgbox.com/ . For some forums this will be a terrible loss because they will get suddenly a gazillion of threads without pictures. For us here the effect will be less extreme because many of us posted their pictures directly into the forum or used hosters different from imagebam and imgbox. But still we would get some empty postings.

So my question is: What should we do in the next two weeks to cope with this problem? Should we do anything at all? Or should we simply let things go their way and take it as fate?

Of course I could try to write a bot to identify the concerning postings, then download the pictures (by hand) from imagebam/imgbox, re-upload them (by hand) elsewhere and correct the links to these new addresses. But this could become much work for a single person and I would like to evade this.

Please tell me what you think and what are your ideas to this subject. Particularly, if you have some experience in programming or if you know another method to avoid the cumbersome method sketched in the paragraph above. We are not the only ones with this problem, so maybe you know a viable solution from some other forum.

Greetings
Bernd

Command back. Meantime they have found a new provider, see http://saradas.org/index.php?topic=434507.0 .
So all should continue like before. Or even better and faster.

Dear Bernd

As far as I know, all the wallpapers in the larger topics that I posted in do not use those two hosting sites.

The "Cool Wallpapers" one started by Fira seems to be intact.

I will check the main Lea one soon. I notice that the visits to that one topic have risen to over 347,000 viewings to date and a quick check seems to show the last two of the pages mostly there, but I will go through them all  one by one and where I  find that there is a lost item, I will try to replace it or otherwise adjust the posting so there are no gaps.  I did this once before when Martin's friend's site expired!

For new wallpapers for Lea, it is difficult to find photos we haven't seen before.  I got a lot from DDF after Lea passed away, who very kindly made them available.  I am not sure if they have retained them to this day?  I found their Website a bit awkward to use compared to earlier years.

For Silvia's photos, I imagine that there are lots still available.  Is Silvia modelling as usual?  Most of Martin and Evelyn Lory's Sites seem to be vacated now.   There was one newer one called "Tom Veller" and also his friend "Roman Sluka" had a site too (I once helped checking the English language translation for that latter site).

I have not been able to contact Monica Sweetheart for some years and Daniella Rush even longer but perhaps they might look at old postings once in a while?   Monica very kindly answered our "Questiions" if you remember.

Best wshes from London!
