Set275 - Genesis No 27, Dec 1999

Another update from a low-to-medium quality PDF of Genesis No 27 from Dec 1999. 

Pages

The Silvia pictorial is presented with pages rotated by 90 degrees, so the double page spreads appear in portrait format, which makes a change.  The pages had rather large gaps at the page fold, so splicing pages 7/8 and 13/14 together was tricky.

Photos

The individual photos were mostly clear of text and there were no insets, which saves a lot of effort.  However the cover photo (000) and the full height photo on pages 7/8 were quite a lot of work to remove the text, particularly because of the complex textures in the background.

Catalogue Updates

Photos 001 - 010 are already in the catalogue, but some are of higher resolution so might be worth considering as updates or variants. 

These are the matches, mostly from the 600px "Genesis.com" photos, as you might expect:

However, the cover photo is a new image for the catalogue.  It is similar to set275_12, but is definitely different, which is why I was keen to go to the effort of removing all the text.  I also adjusted the colour balance to match the other photos in the set and fixed the orientation.  Hopefully the reconstruction doesn't look too obvious. 

Set093 - Club International US, Holiday 1997 (Dec)

Some low-quality scans from another PDF which unfortunately had large gaps around the page join, so were tricky to splice together.  They were also mixed colour balance and rather orange, so I have attempted to match the colours as best I can.

Catalogue Update

This magazine has been scanned before so these photos all exist in the catalogue, but some are rather small, poor quality, have moire effects, are cropped, or are partial photos (or a combination of all these factors).

Hopefully these versions could be considered as updates to the catalogue, especially the two-page photo 018, which can replace the two previously unjoined photos (set093_012/013).

I'm losing my marbles!

You are quite right of course.  I guess I missed it because set046_092 is mirrored and I was concentrating on set046_072. 

Leo June 2000 / Extasy Nov 2000 (Set392/401)

Here is another effort to refresh some old scans of the two sister magazines, Leo (Czech) and Extasy (Polish).   The photo sets in both magazines feature all the same six images, but in different arrangements with some mirrored, some with different cut-outs and cropping. Two of the images also appear expanded as double-page posters.

Happily, I believe all 6 of the images are actually new to the catalogue.

I've spliced together both the two-page montages and the double-page posters to make them look as they would have appeared originally.

I have also attempted to blend together the individual images from both magazines in their highest resolution with their correct orientation and filling in the cut-outs as best I can.  I also adjusted the colour balance on the Set392 photos to be a closer match to each other and to the rest of the set.

Finally, for amusement I translated the text in the montages.  They are basically the same theme.

The other three are set401_028/029/030, but yours are better because they don't have the "Kilar Scans - www.SweetSilviaSaint.com" logo all over them.
